JPEG Weekly - Entry No. 6 by James Posilero

I am so excited!!!!

“Hold on James! This entry is late! Again! For the second time! What’s to be excited about???”

Let me explain.

This entry is late for good reason because last week I bought my first ever film camera, a Pentax K1000, and I have been using it non-stop over my Fujifilm X-T1 and X-T3. My first film of choice is the Fujicolor C200 because it was cheap and probably the most inexpensive option to test the camera.

I will write separately about my experiences with the Pentax K1000 after a couple more rolls and really take it through its paces. I can tell you one thing… it is quite liberating shooting film.

I quickly finished a roll of 36 exposures and after a couple of days in my favourite lab - Fitzgerald Photo - here in Perth, I collected the negatives, proof and scans today.

You can find FItzgerald Photo here.

Anyway, this is about the photos so here they are! There are certainly mistakes but that’s to be expected. I personally love the imperfections.

Please enjoy them as much as I did taking them.

And my personal favourite is this image of my beautiful wife.

I think it’s safe to say that, moving forward, I will now be adding film into my repertoire.

Thank you as always.

James
